Little princess

If your not in the mood for drama, skip this page. It is a letter for someone very important to me. Sadly I dont think I have the guts to send it to him. He doesnt have e-mail. And I dont think he will ever see this blog.

Dear you,

Im feeling numb, it's sad, just sad. Of all the people who wants me to be out of their life, it has to be you. I have gone years hating your previous significant other for the purpose of consoling you and hope to make you realize your not alone, but what? you push me again.

Believe it or not, I tried so hard to hate her. Somebody used to ask me how is she, and I will answer back, she's dead. Period. Completely flushed out of my system.

But things change, I had to move on. Im sorry your still stuck on your anger but Im not. Do not think I do not love you or that I betrayed you for accepting her in my life again but I have to. I could not trust anybody else but her. Why cant I have the freedom to love the two of you? What your doing is not easy for me. Your making me regret my actions in the past 3 years of my life. I need you to be there for me, to let me know I can make this work out and I wont mistake the same mistake both of you did.

Please come back to me.

Love,

Little Princess

Family

- The basic unit of the society.

- The part of your personality you cannot change.

- Reasons for living.

Moments

I almost wished we were on the super high-tech era where even certain moments can be stored in a USB.

It was late night, my baby and I were looking for a goody night cartoons to watch online. When suddenly my baby saw the wound in my hand. He said:

mommy, o sugat, Jon Jon din same sugat (pointing to his finger)...laba mommy, sugat... wawa, mommy no laba...jonjon only

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....I hugged him so tight, I'm about to melt, my heart did.

For those who couldn't understand what he said, it's ok. You will have your turn. hehehe

SATC - give me a break please (revision 2)

Since the 1st episode was aired in HBO, I was hooked in the series! They basically shaped my Wednesday night, with Nova and Sarsi. After the last season was out, I never stopped wishing they would be convinced to make a come back episode, or at least something with the girls. And they did! Again few years I had to wait for it to happen, but it did. Then these news:

http://www.gulfnews.com/tabloid/Cinema/10216750.html

http://www.ahlanlive.com/3435-no-sex-in-the-city

Contradicting these two newspapers might have, they have something in common. The feeling that the movie will not be shown in Dubai or anywhere near UAE.

I now summon the power of the Narnians, joke...sorry if my sense of humor doesnt work anymore. I just feel really sad and sick that I might not have the chance to watch this in cinema. Are they playing the conservative card again? Or are they really just plain dumb?

SATC the movie - Give me a break pleaseeee!

I have been a fan of Sex and the city since the 1st episode aired in HBO. It took years of wishful thinking that there would be another episode after the final season was aired. And then there was the gossip that the girls finally agreed to make a get together, and this time its gonna be a movie. But years counted before it came into reality. And how's that for the fans?Waiting in vain.

Now thats finally showed in the USA and Asia, here are two contradicting news:

www.gulfnews.com/tabloid/Cinema/10216750.html

http://www.ahlanlive.com/3435-no-sex-in-the-city

I now summon the power of the Narnians, ehehe...Seriously if anyone who reads this is connected to the "Filiming authorities" in UAE, please do understand the film is not really beyond it's bounderies. The title may say different but it is true. Please watch the film carefully before making wrong decision. This series shaped my entire young adult life! LOL

SATC the movie - Give me a break pleaseeee!

I am a fanatic of Sex and the City from day 1 it was showed in HBO. After years of waiting for the movie, TO DATE, there is no clear news if it will be shown in Dubai.

Check this two contradicting news:

http://www.gulfnews.com/tabloid/Cinema/10216750.html

http://www.ahlanlive.com/3435-no-sex-in-the-city

Waaaa...I now summon the the power of Narnians!! hehe....serisouly Oh my, please whoever is connected to the "Film Classification Office" make them understand the film is not really out of its boundery. Although downloading is an option, its still best to watch in theatres! Yeah right!!!

When it rains, it rains!

Today is such an overwhelming day for me! I haven't felt this feeling for quite a long time and to be honest I missed it. Funny, I find it, that in less than two hours sitting and chit-chatting with total strangers made me realized how Im so blessed and how I have developed myself in the last three years, career wise. I cannot go to the nitty gritty details now but I would love to say it to the whole wide world in the very near future, I do hope it will be in the next couple of days....these are all blessing from above and I believe I did my best....with GOD's willing....let HIS will be done.

My Soul trip...

" It's so hard to believe, That everything you see is different
From the things that you've been told, I wanted life to be this way
Just a little bit of love could mean so much"

"Time after time , nothing that I can do , Knowing your ways , and loving your ways
But not getting through at all, Day after day , leaving the past behind... Coming to terms with stitches and burns and Learning to fly again...

I don't want to see you anymore, Don't want to be the one to play your game
Not even if you smile, your sweetest smile , Not even if you beg me darling please "

"Adia I do believe I failed you
Adia I know I let you down
Don’t you know I tried so hard
To love you in my way
It’s easy let it go..."

Addiction - how do you deal with it?

Well I know there are several levels of addiction and a tons of things/tangible/non-tangible stuff to be addicted with, but how do you really get rid of an addiction? I cannot remember of any means of how to really remove it from your system...mine just usually wears off...I fall out of interest.

Anyhow some of the things I am currently or still addicted to are:

- Chocolates

- TV Series (Smallville, Desperate Housewives, Maging Sino Ka Man Book 1, 2 not yet released)

- Friendster, Multiply, Gmail, Yahoo, damn.

- Purefoods corned beef

- Lucky Me Instant Noodles (hot hot super hot)

- A certain bug in my work laptop. (I swear when it comes to printing a word doc, it hangs before you can even print it. So ensure to save it first, or you'll lose it all, just like that. And believe it or not,its irritating but Im addicted?!? ! Im totally into it. When Im typing in my personal laptop, it just doesnt feel the same and thus I will not continue in using it. )

- Playing Snake (yeah I know I know)

- Worst of all, wacking myself again and again. You dont get it? Good. Hi hi hi...

Manila Ocean Park

If others have green thumb, I think I have blue..hehe What I'm really trying to say is if others can cultivate plants, I can do the same but with animals. Ive done that with dogs, birds, and my top most favorite, the fish!

Among all the sites we have visited in our 2 hort vacation this year, the most interesting place is the Manila Ocean Park. Contrary to my belief that no animal should be taken from the wild, sad to say this is our only chance for now to experience the ocean wild life upfront and personal. My 2 yrs old baby enjoyed this as much as everyone else, therefore I really recommend to all of my friends to visit Manila Ocean Park. You can check their website also.

In a few day's time, we will be able to visit that of Singapore. Let me comment on the comparison after that.

The Butterfly

Yep.....it is beautiful. And its Clarence favorite color and her Mom's way of moving on, collecting all butterfly stuff. If you can hear the song [All or Nothing] I have inserted in this page, that's her fave too . (If I remember it right). Just before she was taken from us.

It happened like 5 years ago, it was a fine day, she was on her way to UP for a school project with her classmates. They were standing on the sidewalk, in front of 7-11, drinking slurpee....when suddenly a jeepney lost its break and hit those teenagers. Everyone was hurt, some had fractures, one lost an ear, but only my cousin left this dimension that moment. I believe she didn't feel the pain, because we did, everyone she left behind, her Mom, Dad, sister, brother, her family, us and her friends, we are the ones who felt the pain. I believe she was in the state of oblivion. I reckon seeing a poem on top of her casket and a line goes like "but when I heard HIM call my name, I knew its time, I turned around and went with HIM. Forever with me, I shall love thee, but if you may, set me free"

Moving on...I remembered her today, for no particular occasion. And I miss her so much. And so as the other friends of mine who left in such a hurry and did not waived goodbye....Shelly, So and Lee. Hi guys, we are still taking it one day at a time.

One day at a time.

My very own...

As day by day I show more signs of memory loss [yep name it I dont remember it!, from simple movie, or expression, or even a should be unforgettable scene in my past, more often than not...I dont remember it happening.] So to save myself the tears when I cant remember it anymore, I decided to write down every journey I should remember about my Jon from birth till date.

At the age of:

1 mo - Weight of 8.4 Lbs at birth almost half doubled.

He doesn't sleep with the lights turned on. He drinks milk more than he should. He doesn't like water. He doesn't want his poo touching any side of his ass, or else..doomsday! His cries sounds like unye, unye, unye. His first outing was in Rain Forest, Pasig City. Actually we went there, but we didn't really swim. Others swim, we ate! hehehe

3 mo - First foods

Banana, various cereals, and from time to time they will let him taste dinuguan, pancit, cake or whatever is in the table. Just a pinch.

4 mo - First flight

After 3 months of agony for Mommy & Daddy, Jon finally came to Dubai. I remember seeing him in the airport, almost naked because he was so tired and restless, my Mom can no longer keep Jon's clothes on. He was looking so white and cutie! I was asking myself, actually my husband and I was asking ourselves if this is really Jon. He is so bigggg! And he looks like Japanese!

6 mo - First Step

He was taking his little steps one a time, holding on to our walls in the flat in Al Baraha. I cant forget the warmth feeling inside me. My baby is walking!!!

8 mo - Dancing

He imitates the dancers in GMA Channel, Itaktak mo, and Kagat sa Labi!

10 mo - First Swimming

We stayed overnight in Jumeirah open beach. During the night he was afraid to step on the sand bec it was dark. But in the morning he wanted to runnnnn and when his father bought him to the sea, he started giggling! He loved every moment of it!

12 mo - First Birthday

Lovely party of course. Manage to gather some 5 - 7 children of his age level and celebrated in McDo, Al Ghurair, Dubai. Give me a break, we are in Dubai and most of the people I know are still single. 7 children guests is actually an achievement. Most of the Filipino baby here celebrates their birthday party without any children guests! This month also ended our every month celebration for Jon's bday! And those every month celeb. were not simple, mind you, I had to pull everything I can to come up with stuff like Spag, Palabok, Pancit, Lasagna, Baked Mac, Bechamel, and thats every month!

16 Started Talking!!!

Finally he started talking clearly. For the past months, he can actually utter the words, Mama, Baba, Dede but this month he was able to express himself better. He refers to himself as Jonjon. He changed how he call us to Mommy, Daddy, but still Dede. He is a very fast learner....tell it to him once, and he gets it! He can actually answer the following questions:

- What is your name?

- How old are you?

- Where do you live?

- What is the name of your Mommy? Daddy?Lola?

- Who is your favorite Nangnang?

22 Lilo & Stitch

Every single day he ask for this cartoons! And not only once a day, he watch these movies more than twice or sometimes more than 3 times a day! Wwaaaaa He fell in love with the movie, Nemo too. Sadly I lost the CD, but Jon doesn't forget Nemo. He still ask for it every day.

23 Bowling

He loves to play bowling, his first score was 56! Not bad really...Mommy rarely gets that score! He remembers where the bowling area is in Emirates Mall! The ball weighs 6 Lbs, and he can lift it up and push it on his own, but of course Mommy wont let him. I laughed so loud in Starbucks when he was asking everybody specially her Lola to stop from talking and instead go bowling. He said like this: Lola tama na daldal, boding na tayu. Hahahaha...

Pregnancy Dilemma- What if my husband is away when I give birth?

This is another side of the story. Yep I suffered from Morning sickness, to indescribable stretch marks ,then came the stretching of my memory, and now the worry thinking of my husband being away when I deliver.

Giving birth while a husband is far away is not a new story for my genetics. My mother gave birth while my Father is working in the Middle East. My sister in law gave birth with the same story like my Mom.

I can see the positive side of this event, first and foremost whenever my Husband is around, I get to be so "maarte" as in! I rely to him everything and get mushy and emotional every second of the day. I trust him so much, as he really takes good care of my baby and me.
Without him by my side, I need to express the Zam in me, strong, over confident, tactless, hahaha..., which somewhere in the middle I know will have positive effects while giving birth.
Second good effect of this is the fact that my husband's vacation is only 35 days. If I give birth before he arrives then he will have a longer time to spend with our baby! [Yep, we have to go back to Dubai and leave our baby for sometime with my husband's Mother. It has to do with the visa and the accommodation and my Husband's work, but don't worry about this as I am not. My baby will be in good hands. We are setting the goal of my Baby's migration before the end of December,2006,anyway. ]
Back to my dilemma, I already sited two positive effects, let me now think about the negative. Errr...aside from the fact that its really sad to be alone now and during the delivery, plus the thought that my husband will miss this first of the first event in our life,I can't think of anything else. Maybe there isnt's anything I should worry about. Maybe? Let me just cross the bridge when I get there.
And by the way thanks to so many internet shop nowadays in the streets, I get to spend my free time in blogging while waiting for my OGTT, next blood sugar test. It's 4 blood sugar test in the span of 3 hrs, with 100 Mg dose of apparently healthy glucose. The series of test is the confirmation that I no longer have diabetus mellitus, in short, diabetis. LOL

Palace in the city

Most of you must have seen this as a forwarded mail by someone. But its different from us emirateans (isn’t that nice to say? It means expats in United Arab Emirates, lol) , as some of us got the chance to see it once in a blue moon or some of us sees it everyday. Anyway let me share the splendor of one the Emirates architecture. I grow up wondering how a modern castle/palace looks inside, and the dream to relieve it, is here. The following pictures are taken from the home of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the former President of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu-Dhabi.

Happy Valentines Day!!!

If it happens to you, will you ever forget this.....

One day I met a sweet gentleman and fell in love.
When it became apparent that we would marry, I made the supreme sacrifice and gave up eating beans forever.

Some months later, on my birthday, my car broke down on the way home from work. Since I lived in the countryside I called my husband and told him that I would be late because I had to walk home. On my way, I passed by a small diner and the odour of baked beans was more than I could stand. With miles to walk, I figured that I would walk off any ill effects by the time I reached home, so I stopped at the diner and before I knew it, I had consumed three large orders of baked beans.

All the way home, I made sure that I released all the gas. It sounded like an armalite firing, bratatatat. Then I was relieved of all the gas in my stomach.

Upon my arrival, my husband seemed excited to see me and exclaimed delightedly: "Darling I have a surprise for dinner tonight." He then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinner table. I took a seat and just as he was about to remove my blindfold, the telephone rang. He made me promise not to touch the blindfold until he returned and went to answer the call. The baked beans I had consumed were still affecting me and the pressure was becoming most unbearable, so while my husband was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my weight to one leg and let one go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a pulpwood mill. I took my napkin from my lap and fanned the air around me vigorously. Then, shifting to the other cheek, I ripped off three more. The stink was worse than a rotten cabbage. Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room, I went on like this for another few minutes. The pleasure was indescribable. When eventually the telephone farewells signaled the end of my freedom, I quickly fanned the air a few more times with my napkin, placed it on my lap and folded my hands back on it feeling very relieved and pleased with myself.

My face must have been the picture of innocence when my husband returned, apologizing for taking so long. He asked me if I had peeked through the blindfold, and I assured him I had not. At this point, he removed the blindfold, and twelve dinner guests seated around the table chorused: "Happy Birthday!"

Gestational diabetes mellitus --- huwaaat?

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a type of diabetes that arises during pregnancy (usually during the second or third trimester). In some women, GDM occurs because the body cannot produce enough insulin to meet the extra needs of pregnancy.

Often, blood glucose levels can be controlled by diet. You will be given a diet to follow that is low in simple carbohydrates. If your blood glucose cannot be controlled by diet, you will have to take insulin injections. Between ten and 30 per cent of women with GDM take insulin.

Thank you google for the info above.

It was detected in my blood test two weeks ago, my sugar count was way over the limit. Thus it was easy for my doctor to say, Im diabetic.

Now I can’t even smile with just the thought of it. I’m scared. Nope, not like the stretch mark scary, this one is for real. Its serious. If I can’t find a way to make my sugar level sink low, my baby would grow so big, it would both put us in danger.

So let me count thy ways how I should live my life for the next two months…

= Zero Sugar!!!
= Skimmed milk only (ano daw?)
= Less intake of white rice (kaya ko to!)
= Less intake of white bread (lalo naman to, nde naman ako mahilig sa bread!)
= Walking for sometime w/o restraining myself (pano yun?)
= No banana (errr)
= No grapes (waaaaaaaaaaa)
= More vegetable salad, without the dressing (anu lasa nun?)
= No chocolates (oh dear LORD)
= No coffee (fine)
= No tea (not a problem)
= Stay away from fast food restaurants (pasara nyo KFC!)
= No soft drink (since nabuntis naman ako pinagbawal na to)
= Less intake of meat , if cant resist portion should only be like the size of your palm (pwedeng yung 2 palm ko? cge na please maliit lang kasi kamay ko e...at this point gusto na akong batukan ng asawa ko)

As I write it down I feel sadder than ever. Yep, si zam sad na takot pa...haaay
